Jeep Van Wormer Debuts New Paint Scheme; Solid in Dream XXIV Prelims

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team rolled into Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 7-9 for 'Dream XXIV,' which drew 78 competitors to the 1/2-mile speedplant. After Thursday night's $5,000 to win prelim was washed out and rescheduled for Friday afternoon, Jeep Van Wormer, who debuted a special paint scheme highlighting NE Fabrication, started his weekend by finishing sixth in his heat race, winning his B-Main, and placing nineteenth in the 25-lap daytime sprint. Later that evening, Jeep grabbed the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race before finishing twenty-first in the $10,000 to win headliner.

When Saturday came around at the "Big E," all eyes in the pit area were focused on the whopping $100,000 paycheck in the annual 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Jeep was running fifth in his loaded heat race and gaining on the fourth place car when he got too high in turn one. His #55 machine jumped the cushion, hit the wall, and was then struck by two cars running behind him. The Pinconning, Michigan ace emerged from the grinding incident unscathed, but Jeep was done for the evening and did not advance into the 100-lap crown jewel main event. Complete results from the soggy weekend at Eldora can be found online at

Due to the damage inflicted to his XR1 Rocket by Brucebilt Performance racecar from the heat race wreck, a period of time will be needed to get the car back together to be ready to race. Jeep will definitely be taking the upcoming June 15-16 weekend off from racing action, but does not know what his racing calendar looks like past this weekend.
